Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. And every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene. One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn't hear the band - he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words. Days and weeks passed. One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the world outside. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it for himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed.It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."

Best Story - Naming the baby
Once upon a time, in a tiny village in India, there lived Bholaram, the peasant and his wife, Seedhi. They were really simple-Minded. One morning :- Oh! We seem to have overslept today. Has the sun risen ?? asked Seedhi, yawning. Wait! I'll go and ask our neighbours.? Said Bholaram. Somehow, despite their foolishness, they managed to carry on. One fine day :- Dear Husband, we're going to have a baby. Said Seedhi. Really ? what kind ?? He asked. I don't know. She said, scratching her head. Stupid woman! We should find out.? He said, annoyed. Bholaram decided to consult a sage who lived in the forest. So, he went to the forest and reached the cave, in which the sage was meditating. Ah! There he is meditating in his cave.? He thought. Bholaram bowed deeply before the sage and asked :- Tell me, o wise one, what kind of baby will my wife have ?? But, the sage closed his eyes for a long time- Has he gone to sleep or what ?? thought Bholaram. Hmmm! mumered the sage in closed eyes, you wife will give birth to a boy or a girl.He replied. Oh! Thank You! You've solved our problem. Cried Bholaram, overjoyed and he rushed home pleased. After a few weeks later, his wife gave birth to a baby, then :- Ah! A baby boy ! cried his wife. How right the sage was! cried Bholaram. But, what should we name the baby ?? she asked. Such an important decision ! I must ask the sage about it.? Replied Bholaram. So, off he went to the forest once again to consult the sage. Then:- Tell me a name for my child, o wise one.? He asked, bowing before the sage. Come close! I'll put it in your hand. Said the sage.Bholaram stretched out his cupped hands to the sage's mouth :-Close your hands and run home quick!? said the sage. Yes, yes, I must not lose it! cried Bholaram. As he ran back, Bhola saw some farmers ploughing their fields. Why are you running ?? asked one of the farmers. I've got it ! I have got my son's name! he cried. As he looked up to answer them, he tripped and fell down on the ground. Then :- I've lost it! I've lost it! It's all your fault ! he cried. Come on, we?ll help you to find it.? Said one of the farmers coming towards him. What did it look like ?? asked the other farmer, coming towards him. How do I know ?? he said, ? I didn?t see it at all.? Anyway, let's search.Said the third farmer coming. So it was that the five men were groping on all fours on the road- Just then a wise old woman happened to pass that way, then- What are you looking for ?? she asked, looking at them curiously. His son's name. Replied on of the farmers, lifting his head up and looking at her. Name what was it like ?? she asked. ?We don?t know ?? said the other farmer. ?All we know is that it was in my hand and got lost when I fell down.? Said Bholaram. Hah! It's simply idiotic!? cried the old lady, laughing and went away. Thank you! cried Bholaram, pleased. And that is how Bholaram and Seedhi s son came to acquire his name. Simply Idiotic ! come and have your lunch! cried his mother, Seedhi from the kitchen. Yes, Mama. He cried from outside.

Nice thoughts
Among the attributes of God, although they are all equal, mercy shines with even more brilliancy than justice.– Miguel de CervantesIn Kerala, the state in South India from which I come, along the roadside there are stone parapets the height of a person’s head. When people need to rest from carrying heavy loads of rice or fruit on their heads, they stand next to the parapet and shift their load onto it.The Lord of Love who dwells in the hearts of all is the perennial parapet, standing at exactly the right height for each one of us. For those who are very selfish, he stands very tall to support an awesome load; for those who are average in selfishness, he stands about six feet high; and for the selfless, the parapet can hardly be seen because the burden is so light that almost no support is needed. Through the practice of meditation, we can gradually learn to shift our load into the Lord’s mighty arms.We like to think that we make big decisions and carry terrible responsibilities on our shoulders. Our shoulders are bent, our back gives us problems, and we are too tired to stand on our feet because of the mighty weight we try to bear. Few of us realize there is somebody standing with arms outstretched, just waiting to carry our burdens. When one part of my body does something, the other part does not feel miserable, because each knows that it belongs to the same body, and that the entire body is its reality. When I work with my mind, my feet do not feel miserable, because they have established their oneness with my mind….Unless and until we have realised others as our very own, we call them different personalities, different individualities. But if we can see and feel them inside ourselves as members of our own larger family, jealousy will disappear from our life of aspiration.”- Sri Chinmoy

Love Begins, Grows, Ends...
This is a love story that u will never forget...He met her on a party. She was so outstanding, many guys chasing after her, while he was so normal, nobody paid attention to him.At the end of the party, he invited her to have coffee with him, she was surprised, but due to being polite, she promised. They sat in a nice coffee shop, he was too nervous to say anything, she felt uncomfortable, she thought, please, let me go home.. Suddenly he asked the waiter: "would you please give me some salt? I'd like to put it in my coffee."Everybody stared at him, so strange! His face turned red, but, still, he put the salt in his coffee and drank it. She asked him curiously: why you have this hobby? He replied: "when I was a little boy, I was living near the sea,I liked playing in the sea, I could feel the taste of the sea, just like the taste of the salty coffee. Now every time I have the salty coffee, I always think of my childhood, think of my hometown, I miss my hometown so much, I miss my parents who are still living there". While saying that tears filled his eyes. She was deeply touched. That’s his true feeling, from the bottom of his heart. A man who can tell out his homesickness, he must be a man who loves home, cares about home, has responsibility of home.. Then she also started to speak, spoke about her faraway hometown, her childhood, her family. That was a really nice talk, also a beautiful beginning of their story. They continued to date. She found that actually he was a man who meets all her demands; he had tolerance, was kind hearted, warm, careful. He was such a good person but she almost missed him! Thanks to his salty coffee! Then the story was just like every beautiful love story, the princess married to the prince, then they were living the happy life... And, every time she made coffee for him, she put some salt in the coffee, as she knew that's the way he liked it. After 40 years, he passed away, left her a letter which said: "My dearest, please forgive me, forgive my whole life lie. This was the only lie I said to you---the salty coffee.Remember the first time we dated? I was so nervous at that time, actually I wanted some sugar, but I said salt It was hard for me to change so I just went ahead. I never thought that could be the start of our communication!I tried to tell you the truth many times in my life, but I was too afraid to do that, as I have promised not to lie to you for anything.. Now I'm dying, I afraid of nothing so I tell you the truth: I don't like the salty coffee, what a strange bad taste.. But I have had the salty coffee for my whole life! Since I knew you, I never feel sorry for anything I do for you.Having you with me is my biggest happiness for my whole life. If I can live for the second time, still want to know you and have you for my whole life, even though I have to drink the salty coffee again".Her tears made the letter totally wet.Someday, someone asked her: what's the taste of salty coffee? It's sweet. She replied.love is not 2 forgetbut 2 forgivenot 2 c but understandnot 2 hear but 2 listennot 2 let go but HOLD ON !!!!Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss and ends with a tear.
Moral Story
In a poor zoo of India , a lion was frustrated as he was offered not more than 1 kg meat a day.One day the lion thought it's prayers were answered when a US Zoo Manager visited the zoo and requested the zoo management to shift the lion to a US zoo. The lion was pleased and started thinking of a central A/C environment, a goat or two every day and a US Green Card . On it's first day after arrival, the lion was offered a big bag, sealed very nicely, for breakfast. It opened the bag quickly but was shocked to see that it contained only a few bananas. Controlling its anger, the lion thought that may be they cared too much for him as they were worried about his stomach as he had recently shifted from India . The next day the same thing happened. On the third day again the same food bag of bananas was delivered. Now the lion was furious. It stopped the delivery boy and blasted him, "Don't you know, I am the lion...King of the Jungle....What's wrong with your management? What nonsense is this ? Why are you delivering bananas to me ?"The delivery boy politely said, "Sir, I know you are the King of the Jungle but....do you know that you have been brought here on a Monkey's visa!!!Moral: Better to be a Lion in India than a Monkey elsewhere!!!

NEVER BE SHY TO SAY UR LOVE THAT U LOVE HER/HIM
10th GradeAs I sat there in English class, I stared at the girl next tome. She was my so-called "best friend". I stared at her long, silky hair. I wished she were mine, but she didn't notice me like that. And I knew it. After class she walked up to me and asked me for the notes she had missed the day before, and I handed them toher. She said "thanks" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I wanted to tell her. I wanted her to know that I don't want to be just friends. I love her, but I'm just too shy. And I don't know why.11th GradeThe phone rang. It was her on the other end. She was in tears, mumbling on and on about how her love had broke her heart. She asked me to come over because she didn't want to be alone, so I did. As I sat next to her on the sofa, I stared at her soft eyes, wishing she was mine. After 2 hours, a Drew Barrymore movie, and three bags of chips, she decided to go to sleep. She looked at me, said "thanks," and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I want to tell her. Prom night after everything was over I was standing at her front door step. I stared at her. She smiled at me and stared at me with her crystal eyes. I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends. I love her, but I'm just too shy. And I don't know why... Graduation DayA day passed. A week passed. A month passed. Before I could blink, it was graduation day. I watched as her perfect body floated like an angel up on stage to get her diploma. I wanted her to be mine, but she didn't notice me like that, and I knew it. Before everyonewent home, she came to me in her smock and hat, and she cried as I hugged her. Then, she lifted her head from my shoulder and said, "You're my best friend, thanks!" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I want to tell her. I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends. I love her, but I'm just too shy. And I don't know why…A Few Years LaterNow, I sit in the pews of the church. She is getting married, now. I watched her say, "I do" and drive off to her new life, married to another man. I wanted her to be mine but she didn't see me like that, and I knew it. But before she drove away, she came to me and said, "You came!" She said, "thanks!" and kissed me on the cheek. I want to tell her. I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends. At the service they read a diary entry she had wrote in her high school years. This is what it read: I stare at him wishing he were mine. But he doesn't notice me like that, and I know it. I want to tell him. I want him to know that I don't want to be just friends. I love him, but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why. A Good Story... Daughter and Dad
A father passing by his teenage daughter's bedroom was astonished to see the bed was nicely made and everything was neat and tidy. Then he saw an envelope propped up prominently on the centre of the pillow. It was addressed "Dad". With the worst premonition, he opened the envelope and read the letter with trembling hands:-Dear Dad,It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you, but I'm leaving home. I had to elope with my new boyfriend Randy because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mom and you. I've been finding real passion with Randy and he is so nice to me. I know when you meet him you'll like him too - even with all his piercing, tattoos, and motorcycle clothes. But it's not only the passion Dad, I'm pregnant and Randy said that he wants me to have the kid and that we can be very happy together. Even though Randy is much older than me (anyway, 42 isn't so old these days is it?), and has no money, really these things shouldn't stand in the way of our relationship, don't you agree? Randy has a great CD collection; he already owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. It's true he has other girlfriends as well but I know he'll be faithful to me in his own way. He wants to have many more children with me and that's now one of my dreams too. Randy taught me that marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone and he'll be growing it for us and we'll trade it with our friends for all the cocaine and ecstasy we want. In the meantime, we'll pray that science will find a cure for AIDS so Randy can get better; he sure deserves it!! Don't worry Dad, I'm 15 years old now and I know how totake care of myself. Someday I'm sure we'll be back to visit so you can get to know your grandchildren.Your loving daughter,Rosie. At the bottom of the page were the letters"PTO"Hands still trembling, her father turned the sheet, and read. PS: Dad, none of the above is true. I'm over at the neighbor’s house.I just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than myreport card that's in my desk centre drawer Please sign it and callwhen it is safe for me to come home. I love you.
Nice Story - biggest weakness 2 biggest strength
A 10-year-old boy decided to study judo despite the fact that he had lost his left arm in a devastating car accident. The boy began lessons with an old Japanese judo master. The boy was doing well, so he couldn't understand why, after three months of training the master had taught him only one move. Sensei,"(Teacher in Japanese) the boy finally said, "Shouldn't I be learning more moves?""This is the only move you know, but this is the only move you'll ever need to know," the sensei replied. Not quite understanding, but believing in his teacher, the boy kept training. Several months later, the sensei took the boy to his first tournament. Surprising himself, the boy easily won his first two matches. The third match proved to be more difficult, but after some time, his opponent became impatient and charged; the boy deftly used his one move to win the match. Still amazed by his success, the boy was now in the finals. This time, his opponent was bigger, stronger, and more experienced. For a while, the boyappeared to be overmatched. Concerned that the boy might get hurt, the referee called a time-out.He was about to stop the match when the sensei intervened."No," the sensei insisted, "Let him continue." Soon after the match resumed, his opponent made a critical mistake: he dropped his guard. Instantly, the boy used his move to pin him. The boy had won the match and the tournament. He was the champion. On the way home, the boy and sensei reviewed every move in each and everymatch. Then the boy summoned the courage to ask what was really on his mind."Sensei, how did I win the tournament with only one move?""You won for two reasons," the sensei answered."First, you've almost mastered one of the most difficult throws in all of judo. And second, the only known defense for that move is for your opponent to grab your left arm."The boy's biggest weakness had become his biggest strength.
Quite Funny story
Once upon a time there was a Prince who, through no fault of his own was cast under a spell by an evil witch. The curse was that the Prince could speak only one word each year. However, he could save up the words so that if he did not speak for a whole year, then the following year he was allowed to speak two words. (This was before the time of letter writing or sign language…No further questions!!)One day he met a beautiful princess (ruby lips, golden hair, sapphire eyes) and fell madly in love. With the greatest difficulty he decided to refrain from speaking for two whole years so that he could look at her and say "my darling". But at the end of the two years he wished to tell her that he loved her.Because of this, he waited three more years without speaking (bringing the total number of silent years to 5).But at the end of these five years, he realized that he had to ask her to marry him. So he waited ANOTHER four years without speaking. Finally, as the ninth year of silence ended, his joy knew no bounds.Leading the lovely princess to the most secluded and romantic place in that beautiful royal garden the prince heaped a hundred red roses on her lap, knelt before her, and taking her hand in his, said huskily, "My darling, I love you! Will you marry me?" And the princess tucked a strand of golden hair behind a dainty ear, opened her sapphire eyes in wonder, and parting her ruby lips, said:scroll down..............Well, guess what she said .................come on, guess what could she havesaid.........................well, she said.............."Pardon?"
Little Boy story
On the last day before Christmas, I hurried to go to the supermarket to buy the remaining of the gift I didn't manage to buy earlier. When I saw all the people there, I started to complain tomyself,"It is going to take forever here and I still have so many other places to go.Christmas really is getting more and more annoying every year. How I wish I could just lie down, go to sleep and only wake up after it..."Nonetheless, I made my way to the toy section, and there I started to curse the prices, wondering if after all kids really playwith such expensive toys. While looking in the toy section, I noticed a small boy of about 5 years old, pressing a doll against his chest. He kept on touching the hair of the doll and looked so sad. I wondered who was this doll for. Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him, "Granny, are you sure I don't have enough money?"The old lady replied, "You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear."Then she asked him to stay here for 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly. The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand. Finally, I started to walk toward him and I asked him who did he want to give this doll to."It is the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for this Christmas. She was so sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her."I replied to him that may be Santa Claus will bring it to her, after all, and not to worry. But he replied to me sadly. "No, Santa Claus can not bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mother so that she can give it to her when she goes there."His eyes were so sad while saying this. "My sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mummy will also go to see God very soon, so I thought that she could bring the doll with her to give it to my sister."My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said, "I told daddy to tell mummy not to go yet. I asked him to wait until I come back from the supermarket." Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me, "I also want mummy to take this photo with her so that she will not forget me." I love my mummy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me but daddy says that she has to go to be withmy little sister."Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.I quickly reached for my wallet and took a few notes and said to the boy, "What if we checked again, just in case if you have enough money?""Ok," he said. "I hope that I have enough."I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll, and even some spare money. The little boy said, "Thank you God for giving me enough money."Then he looked at me and added, "I asked yesterday before I slept for God to make sure I have enough money to buy this doll so that mummy can give it to my sister. He heard me." "I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mummy, but I didn't dare to ask God too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and the white rose.""You know, my mummy loves white rose."A few minutes later, the old lady came again and I left with my trolley. I finished my shopping in a totallydifferent state from when I started. I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind. Then I remembered a local newspaper article 2 days ago, which mentioned of a drunk man in a truck who hit a car where there was one young lady and a little girl. The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-assisting machine, because the young lady would not be able to get out of the coma. Was this the family of the little boy? Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the newspaper that the young lady had passed away.I couldn't stop myself and went to buy a bunch of white roses and I went to the mortuary where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wish before burial. She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rosein her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.I left the place crying, feeling that my life had been changed forever. The love that this little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to that day, hard to imagine. And in a fraction of a second, a drunk man had taken all this away from him.
Shalini - Love story
She was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. I cannot describe herbeauty in the limited time I have here. I was 23 and fresh out of college, when I saw her. I don't know if it was the hormones but I loved her atfirst sight. She was the girl of my dreams. It is said that matches our made in heaven. It was sheer destiny that wewere traveling to Chennai on the same train, The Niligiri Express. We werein the same compartment, S1 and were seated next to each other, 25 and 26.It was an amazing coincidence as my ticket had been confirmed only at thelast minute."Hi, my name is Shalini," she introduced herself with a beaming smile. Shestretched out her right hand. I was shivering when I shook it."I am Arjun," I said and added, "Pleased to meet you."She had a serene, innocent face; the face of the kind of person who getsbullied in school. The image of a woman who couldn't hurt a fly if shewanted to."How old are you?" I blurted out. It was the worst question to ask a womanbut I was a nervous wreck and I wanted to talk to this woman. She smiled at me and said, "Never ask a man his salary and a woman herage." "I'm so sorry. I don't..." My tongue adamantly stuck to the roof of mymouth"No, it is okay. Let us say, I will be sixty seven in 2050."I worked out the math. She was twenty two. I was twenty three. It wasperfect! A match made in heaven."Do you have a crush on me?" she asked."What? How could you ask...?""Do you have a crush on me or not?" she asked emphasizing on 'crush'."To tell you the truth, yes," I said meekly."It's okay. You can be bold about it. I'll tell you a little secret."She pulled my ear next to her mouth and whispered, "I think you areattractive. I might even love you"I turned pink the next moment."Hey you believed me, didn't you? April fool, go to school. Tell yourteacher, you are a fool," she shouted. She laughed at the top of her voice.I checked my watch. It was April 1st, 2005 and I had been made a jackass.I didn't want to look at the woman's face again. I loved her but I hatedher for what she had done. I turned to the opposite side and stared out ofthe window. She noticed my sulking face."Hey, don't get mad at me. It was a joke. That's all. I'm sorry," she said.I didn't look at her and didn't reply."Okay. What can I do to compensate?" "You could sing a song for me," I said softly. I wanted to know how wellmy girl could sing."Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you." She stood up and went tothe centre of the compartment."Friends, we have a birthday boy in our midst. I want all of you to wishhim happy birthday."The entire compartment including the TTE (Train Ticket Examiner) wassinging "Happy birthday to Arjun."She took out a vegetable sandwich from her bag. She said that it was asubstitute for a cake. I cut the sandwich and gave her the first piece. She removed the tomato and cucumber from the sandwich. She pasted thecucumber and tomato all over my face. I distributed the remaining bits ofthe sandwich to everyone in the compartment. It was the best birthday Ihad ever had. When all the euphoria died I asked her, "How did you know that it was mybirthday?"She pointed to the card on top of my bag."Will you make a birthday resolution for me?" she asked."Sure. Tell me.""Promise to always smile because life presents too many opportunities tocry. And you look ugly when you are sad.""It is a promise." I rested my palm on top of hers. The perfectly romantic scene was disturbed by a child's cry coming fromthe adjoining apartment. She took her hand off mine. I thought, "Damn, tough luck."She went to the next compartment to see what the problem was. The boy wastwo years old and his mother was not to be found. Nobody seemed to careabout the boy.She carried the boy in her arms and brought him to our compartment. Shecajoled the boy by singing a lullaby for him. She had a sweet voice; thevoice of a nightingale."I love kids," she said. "I love kids, too," I replied, eager to show we had similar tastes. The boy did not stop crying. He appeared to be terrified of us. His motherwas nowhere to be seen."You don't like songs. Okay, I will tell you a story. Once upon a time, ina faraway land, there lived a king."The boy listened intently for a second but started crying as soon as shepaused."Hey, relax. Give me time to think of a story. You are an impatient baby.In this land...""I will look for the boy's mother," I said. She nodded her head.I found the boy's mother, two compartments away. She had gone there tomeet a friend. She had forgotten about her kid. When we came back to S1, we found the boy sound asleep in Shalini's lap.She had used all her powers of persuasion to make him feel secure in herlap."I want to thank...""Shh...Your son is sleeping. Don't disturb him," she whispered to theboy's mother and gave the boy to her."Do you want the Nobel peace prize?" I asked her cynically."I love people. When I am around, the people around me should be happy. That is my philosophy in life," she said, sincerely. It made me feel small and stupid in front of her. I began to rethink aboutmy mission in life. Should I be a priest? No, can't marry her. Socialworker, peace activist...maybe.We heard a voice in the distance shouting "Is there a doctor on thistrain?""Dr. Shalini, here. How can I help you?" she shouted back.We waited to see the face of the voice we had heard. It was aco-passenger, a bearded man who seemed anxious."Doctor, my father is serious. Please do something.""Come with me. You could be of help," she told me. She caught hold of myarm and guided me along the compartment. I had absolutely no say in thematter. Oh! The power of women! The old man was in a grave condition. His breathing was heavy and he wascoughing profusely. He seemed ready to make peace with god. "Open thewindows," she told me. I opened all the windows to allow fresh air to comein."Hold him up for me," she instructed.I made the old man sit up. She took out her stethoscope and checked hisheartbeat. She checked his pulse for variations.I watched her lovingly as she worked her magic on the old man. She was sosoft and tender with people. Whether it was a little boy or an old man,she had so much affection for them. Unbelievably, the old man was normalwithin half an hour. His son didn't have enough words to thank Shalini."He is okay now. Don't disturb him. Let him sleep well," she instructedhim."I never expected you to be a doctor," I said."Men always think that beautiful women don't have brains."I didn't know how to reply to that remark. Did she mean that she wasbeautiful, or brainy or both. One can never understand a woman's mind. So,I diverted the conversation."What made you become a doctor?" I asked."A lot of things. It was my father's dream. Above all else, it gives methe power to make people smile; the power to save lives.""Will you marry me?" I asked, spontaneously. I had never been more sure ofmyself."Is this April fool?""No. I am serious. See, I know that I am unemployed. I am not even aseducated as you. I don't even look good. I have no caliber. But I loveyou. Will you marry me?""You know nothing about me. I don't like commitments. I live every daylike it is my last.""If you marry me, I will live everyday like it is my first."She closed her beautiful eyes. She took a deep breath and thought for amoment. The suspense was killing. "God, why didn't I meet you earlier," she said.I had no time to reply. The doors to my mouth were sealed by her lips. Ithought that my head was immersed in the clouds. The people in mycompartment pretended to close their eyes. But I could see the men lookingat me with envy through the corner of their eyes. It was the mostbeautiful moment of my life. It still is the most beautiful. The train came to a screeching halt. We had reached Tirupur station. Itwas hard to believe that so much had happened in two hours. There are some moments in life which you can remember even in your sleep. For me, it was what happened at Tirupur railway station. It redefined mylife forever."I am hungry. Get me something to eat," said Shalini. She dug into herleather handbag and brought out twenty rupees."It's okay. I have money. What do you want?""Get me Strawberry milk to drink. And honey, I love you," she said, earnestly. We hugged again. For the last time. The milk booth was about hundred feet from S1. It gave me time to thinkabout the sudden changes in my life. My parents were conservative people.I had to convince them about Shalini. If they agreed, good. If not, whocares? I loved Shalini more than my parents. My thoughts were disrupted by the sound of an explosion. It sounded likethe aggregation of a thousand thunders. The impact of the explosion threwme off my feet. I turned to look at the train. S1, S2 and S3 had beenreduced to pieces, like waste in a manufacturing process. My only thought was about Shalini. I ran towards where S1 had previouslybeen. I searched for her amidst the corpses. All I could find were severedhands, burnt flesh and a fresh stream of blood. Not a single body wasidentifiable in the three compartments.Who on earth could do such a cruel thing, I wondered. I swore that I wouldget even with the people who had taken my beloved Shalini's life. I weptlike a little boy who had lost his favorite toy. Amidst the tears, Ithought about the two hours I had spent with Shalini. Something she hadsaid had struck me as strange."You know nothing about me. I live everyday like it is my last. God, Iwish I had met you earlier." "Could it be Shalini," I wondered. "No, notShalini. She had too innocent a face to do such a dastardly act. Besides, she was a doctor. And they know the value of a human life," I reasoned tomyself. The next morning, my worst fears were confirmed. A newspaper report said,"A twenty two year old doctor named Shalini had committed suicide on theNiligiri express. She had taken the lives of hundred people with her. Thereasons for the attack are unknown."I never understood the reasons for the attack. It could have been personalor ideological. All I can still remember is her face, how innocent itlooked. How she made everyone around her happy. How she showed love andcare to kids and old men alike. That face was a mask. Beneath the benevolent mask, was the true Shalini. Ahard-nosed, sadistic, terrorist capable of sacrificing human life tosatisfy her selfish needs. She truly changed my life. From then on, I realized that every human wearsa mask which he develops over a period of time. It is the mask which isexposed to the world. Beneath that mask, after layers of deceit there liesthe true nature of each individual. This real person in each one of us isintricately more fascinating than any figment of wild imagination.Shalini's mask was my first love. I will always love her.

Kargil Soldier Story
A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after having fought in Kargil. He called his parents from Delhi."Mom and Dad, I'm coming home, but I've a favor to ask. I have a friendI'd like to bring home with me.""Sure," they replied, "we'd love to meet him.""There's something you should know the son continued, "he was hurtpretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mind & lost an armand aleg. He has nowhere else to go, & I want him to come live with us.""I'm sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find somewhere tolive.""No, Mom & Dad, I want him to live with us.""Son," said the father, "you don't know what you're asking. Someonewith such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We've our ownlives to live, & we can't let something like this interfere with our lives. I think you should just come home and forget about this guy. He'll find a way to live on his own."At that point, the son hung up the phone. The parents heard nothingmore from him. A few days later, however, they received a call from theJ&K police. Their son had died after falling from a building, they weretold. The police believed it was suicide. The grief-stricken parentsflew to Sri Nagar and were taken to the city morgue to identify thebody of their son. They recognized him, but to their horror they alsodiscovered something they didn't know, their son had only one arm andone leg.The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to lovethose who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don't likepeople who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable. We wouldrather stay away from people who aren't as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are. Thankfully, there's someone who won't treat us that way. Someone who loves us with an unconditional love that welcomes us into the forever family, regardless of how messed up we are.
Secret of Happy married Life
A couple was celebrating their golden wedding anniversary. Their domestic tranquility had long been the talk of the town-"What a peaceful & loving couple".A local newspaper reporter was inquiring as to the secret of their long and happy marriage. "Well, it dates back to our honeymoon," explained the man."We visited the Grand Canyon and took a trip down to the bottom on the canyon by horse. We hadn't gone too far when my wife's horse stumbled. My wife said, "That's once"."We proceeded a little further and the horse stumbled again. Once more my wife said, 'That's twice.' "We hadn't gone a half-mile when the horse stumbled the third time. My wife quietly removed a revolver from her purse and shot the horse dead."I started an angry protest over her treatment of the horse; while I was shouting, she looked at me, and said, "That's once"." And we lived happily ever after"
WorldWar 1 - Soldier
Horror gripped the heart of a World War-I soldier, as he saw his lifelong friend fall in battle. The soldier asked his Lieutenant if he could go out to bring his fallen comrade back."You can go," said the Lieutenant," but don't think it will be worth it. Your friend is probably dead and you may throw your life away."The Lieutenant's words didn't matter, and the soldier went anyway. Miraculously, he managed to reach his friend, hoisted him onto his shoulder and brought him back to their company's trench. The officer checked the wounded soldier, and then looked kindly at his friend. "I told you it wouldn't be worth it," he said. "Your friend is dead and you are mortally wounded.""It was worth it, Sir," said the soldier."What do you mean by worth it?" responded the Lieutenant. "Your friend is dead.""Yes Sir," the soldier answered, "but it was worth it because when I got to him, he was still alive and I had the satisfaction of hearing him say..."Jim... I knew you'd come."------------------------------------------Many times in life, whether a thing is worth doing or not, really depends on how u look at it. No proper combing of air, no proper clothing etc., Her class teacher loves her so much and feels sorry for the condition of the girl.So one day she gives a beautiful blue dress and also makes her up well. On the evening when the girl reaches home, her mother couldn't believe hereyes. How good her daugher is, she amazes and she curses herself for not taking proper care of her kid. On the very second, she cleans her house. Herhusband comes home and they together clean their house. Daily they dress up the girl and send her to school. Meanwhile they repair their fence andplant trees.Looking at them, their immediate neighbours begin to work. Then the people of the street and the whole slum also gets changed. Old story - Donkey & Washerman
A good story for all of us to hear relating to careers and social life........ ....very true...Once upon a time a Washerman was bringing up two donkeys.Let us say Donkey-A and Donkey-B.Donkey-A felt it was very energetic and could do better than the other. It always tried to pull the washerman's attraction over it by taking more load and walking fast in front of him.Innocent Donkey-B is normal, so it will walk normal, irrespective of the washerman's presence. After a period of time, Washerman started pressurizing Donkey-B to be like Donkey-A. But Donkey-B unable to walk fast, got continuous punishment from washerman. It was crying and told personally to Donkey-A "Dear friend, only we two are here, why to compete with each other....we can carry equal load at normal speed ".That made Donkey-A all the more energetic and next day it told to washerman that it can carry more load and even it can run fast also.Obviously happier washerman looked at Donkey-B.., his BP raised and he started kicking Donkey-B. Next day with smile, Donkey-A carried more load and started running fast. But it was breathtaking for Donkey-B and it couldn't act that way......But the washerman was frustrated, so he harassed Donkey-B terribly, and finally it fell down hopelessly. Then Donkey-A felt itself as a supremo and happily started carrying more load with great speed. But now the Load of the Donkey-B is also being carried by donkey-A., and still it has to run fast. For some period it did, finally due to fatigue it got tired and started feeling the pain. But washerman expected more from Donkey-A. It also tried best, but couldn't cope up with his owners demand. The Washerman got angry with Donkey-A also and started harassing to take more load... Donkey-A was crying for long time and then tried its best... But it couldn't meet the owner's satisfaction. Finally the day came when due to frustration the washerman killed Donkey-A and went for searching some other Donkeys. Its an endless story....... ..But the moral of the Story in Corporate and Social life is......, "Think all colleagues are same and thateveryone is capable... Always share the Load equally..... Don't ever act smart in front of your Boss and never try for getting over-credit. .. Don't feel happy when ur colleague is under pressure.. "It doesn't matter if u r A or B, for the Boss u shall be always DONKEY!!! And most importantly,Never Work Hard, Work Cleverly.... ."Success is a journey not a destination"
A Sad Love Story
have a boyfriend who grew up with me. His name is Jin. I always thought of him as a frienduntil last year, when we went to a trip from a club. I found that I fell in love with him. Before thattrip was over, I took a step and confessed my love for him. And soon, we became a pair oflovers, but we loved each other in different ways. I always concentrated on him only, but byhis side, there were so many other girls. To me, he was the only one, but to him, maybe I was just another girl…“Jin, do you want to go watch a movie?” I asked.“I can’t”“Why? You need to study at home?” I felt disappointment grabbing me.“No… I am going to meet a friend…He was always like that. He met girls in front of me, like it was nothing. To him, I was just a girlfriend. The word ‘love’ only came out from my mouth. Since I knew him, I had never heard him say ‘I love you’ before. To us, there weren’t any anniversaries at all. He didn’t say anything from the first day and it continued till 100 days…200days… Everyday, before we say goodbye, he would just hand me a doll, everyday, without fail. I don’t know why…Then one day…Me: Um, Jin, I …Jin: What…don’t drag, just say..Me: I love you.Jin: ……you….um, just take this doll and go home. That was how he ignored my ‘three words’ and handed me the doll. Then he disappeared, like he was running away. The dolls I received from him everyday, filled my room, one by one. There were many…Then one day came, my 15th year old birthday. When I got up in the morning, I pictured a party with him, and stranded myself in my room, waiting for his call. But… lunch passed, dinner passed… and soon the sky was dark… he still didn’t call. It was already tiring to look at the phone anymore. Then around 2am in the morning, he suddenly called me and woke me from my sleep. He told me to come out of the house. Still, I felt joy and I ran out happily. Me: Jin…Jin: Here…take this…Again, he handed me a little doll.Me: What’s this?Jin: I didn’t give it to you yesterday, so I am giving it to you now. I’m going home now, bye.Me: Wait, wait! Do you know what today is?Jin: Today? Huh?I felt so sad, I thought he would remember my birthday. He turned around and walked away like nothing had happen. Then I shouted… “Wait…”Jin: You have something to say?Me: Tell me, tell me you love me…Jin: What?!Me: Tell meI put my pathetic self behind and clung on to him. But he just said simple cold words and left.“I don’t want to say…that I love someone so easily, if you are desperate to hear it, then find someone else.”That was what he said. Then he ran off. My legs felt numb… and I collapsed to the ground. He didn’t want to say it easily… How could he…. I felt that… Maybe he is not the right guy for me…After that day, I stranded myself at home crying, just crying. He didn’t call me, although I was waiting. He just continued handing me a little doll every morning outside my house. That’s how those dolls piled up in my room… everydayAfter a month, I got myself together and went to school. But what made the pain resurface was that… I saw him on a street… with another girl… He had a smile on his face, one that he never showed me…as he touched the doll… I ran straight back home and looked at the dolls in my room, and tears fell… Why did he gave these to me… Those dolls are probably picked out by some other girls…In a fit of anger, I threw the dolls around. Then suddenly, the phone rang. It was him. He told me to come out to the bus stop outside my house. I tried to calm myself down and walked to the bus stop. I kept reminding myself that I am going to forget him, that… it’s going to end. Then he came into my sight, holding a big doll.Jin: Jo, I thought you were pissed, you really came?I couldn’t help hating him, acting like nothing had happen and joking around. Soon, he held out the doll as usual… Me: I don’t need it. Jin: What….why…I grabbed the doll from his hands and threw it on the road.Me: I don’t need this doll, I don’t need it anymore!! I don’t want to see a person like you again!I spitted out all the words that were inside me. But unlike other days, his eyes very shaking.“I’m sorry” He apologized in a tiny voice. He then walked over to the road to pick up the doll…Me: You stupid! Why are you picking up the doll?! Just throw it away!!!But he ignored me and just went to pick the doll. Then…Honk~ Honk~With a loud honk, a big truck was heading towards him.“Jin! Move! Move away!” I shouted… But he didn’t hear me, he squatted down and picked up the doll.“Jin, move!” HONK~!! “Boom!” That sound, so terrifying. That’s how he went away from me. That’s how he went away without even opening his eyes to say one word to me.After that day, I had to go through everyday with guiltiness and the sadness of losing him… And after spending two months like a crazy person… I took out the dolls. Those were the only gifts he left me since the day we started going out. I remembered the days I spent with him and started to count the days… when we were in love…“One…two… three…” That was how… I started to count the dolls…“Four hundred and eighty four… four hundred and eighty five…” It all ended with 485 dolls.I then started to cry again, with a doll in my arms. I hugged it tightly, then suddenly…“I love you~, I love you~” I dropped the dolls, shocked“I….lo..ve…you??” I picked up the dolls and pressed its stomach.“I love you~ I love you~” It can’t be! I pressed all the dolls’ stomach as it piled on the side.“I love you~”“I love you~”“I love you~” Those words came out non-stop. I…love you… Why didn’t I realize that….That his heart was always by my side, protecting me. Why didn’t I realize that he love me this much… I took out the doll under the bed and pressed it’s stomach, that was the last doll, the one that fell on the road. It had his blood stain on it. The voice came out, the on that I was missing so much.“Jo…Do you know what today is? We’ve been loving each other for 486 days. Do you know what 486 is? I couldn’t say I love you…. Um… since I was too shy… If you forgive me and take this doll, I will say that I love you… everyday… till I die… Jo… I love you…”The tears came flowing out of me. Why? Why? I asked god, why do I only know about all this now? He can’t be by my side, but he loved me until his last minute…For that… and for that reason… to me… it became courage… to live a beautiful life .

Read this true story... and let everybody you know in and around Delhi, especially Gurgaon know this.......My friend lives in Delhi ... One day he went to Gurgaon to visit his uncle for some days. One evening he and some other of my college friends went to Priya's for a movie. He had so much fun that he forgot that it was very late. He reached Gurgaon around midnight......He had to walk about a mile from where his friend dropped him.... As he was walking alone, he could sense that the night felt very creepy as it was so dark. While walking, he was astonished to see an old creepy looking guy selling some books. It was a very unusual thing to see a thing like that..... It got the shivers on him when he noticed that his old guy is unusually pale and staring at him...The old guy said "Son why don't you get a book...it would keep you company". Then he did something which he would regret for the rest of his life .........My friend started to act brave & thought why not & had a look at his collection.. he noticed that all the books were related to supernatural activities...but he found one that was very interesting. So he asked the old man "how much is it?"....The old guy replied, "Well son...this is an interesting book...it's only for Rs 250. "My friend was shocked and said "but...but...it's expensive"This time the old man stared which freaked my friend. My friend quickly checked all his pockets & found Rs.200 & said "This is all I hav e." The old guy replied "It's OK son ...you can have the book for that price"As ! my friend was just about to run for home...the old man called back & said "Son ... whatever happen, you don't ever flip the book to it's last page... remember these words or you would regret it...!!!!!" My friend nodded and never looked back ... Reaching home...he quickly asked his Uncle whether there was any new old book seller nearby? The Uncle replied "not that I know of but ...we've heard that there's 1 old man comes once in a while during full moon nights but heard that there is something creepy about it...why son?" My friend freaked out... he told his uncle "nothing uncle...just asking". He started reading the book with the old man's words on his mind. At night, 2 o'clock, as he went to bed, a gush of wind blew which chilled him up to his bones. At that glimpse, he noticed the wind had blown the pages to its last page. He remembered what the old man has said! But we humans tend to have the tendency to know. Out of curiosity, he flipped to the last page & fainted... What he saw at the last page is stated below:Don't look further down if you have a weak heart I warn you.........Original price:-- Rs. 20/-Promotion price:-- Rs. 10/-
My Love story
EVER SINCE I can remember I had wanted to fall in love. And, not only fall in love, but fall in love with the right person. I wanted someone who would accept my faults and love me for who I am. I hopped from one relationship to another, each time being bitterly disappointed when my knight in shining amour turned out to be the opposite of what I expected and wanted. Finally, I decided that the elusive emotion of love wasn’t meant for me and I reconciled myself to the fact that I might never find my Mr. Right. I should have known that God’s sense of humor is wicked, at the very least! My first interaction with the person I fell in love with was explosive. We were working in the same company and I was his junior. One of my duties entailed transferring calls to him. Once he was on the phone and there were continuous calls coming for him. I was unable to see him, so I leant across my desk and called out to him, only to have him turn around and yell at me. I was so taken aback that I turned red and burst into tears. He had no choice but to come over and apologize, which I grudgingly accepted.I think that guilt struck him some days later for he took my number and called me up one evening. It was supposed to be just one call but somehow they multiplied. I still remember how I used to go back home daily and crib to my mother that there was this one guy in office I couldn’t stand because he was always so stuck up. And, she used to look at me puzzled, wondering that if I couldn’t stand him how was it that I was talking to him for hours every evening. That was a question I couldn’t answer and didn’t even try to. And, neither did he. As time passed, we realized that we were on the same wavelength, more so because both of us were trying to get out of destructive relationships at that time. Slowly from mutual dislike emerged a bond of empathy, which led to a lot of advice giving and taking and we started spending a lot of time together. He would come over every evening and we would sit together in his car, sip coffee and discuss the tumult of emotions our respective partners were putting us through. I still don’t know when this friendship blossomed into love - was it when I heard him talking about his girlfriend and felt the first arrow of jealousy prick me, or was it when I found myself waiting for his calls and visits?I don’t know. And after three years of knowing him and two of loving him, it is still a mystery to me. When I look back now I wonder, was there actually a time when we didn’t know each other? I’m sure God must be having a good laugh for He brought me to the edge of despair before filling my life with sunshine. This person is the joy of my life - he makes me laugh, he reduces me to tears, he still advises me and there are times when he even irritates me. But when I close my eyes at night, the one emotion that stays with me is the feeling of security that he gives me. We are not officially committed to each other, but some bonds don’t require a piece of paper. The union is already there, between our hearts and souls. And that I feel is above all rituals. I don’t know what our future holds. His family is against me and being the only son he has a deep sense of responsibility towards them. Each day I wake up wondering whether this will be the day when I will lose him and each night I thank God for letting me share another day with him.I got a very nice forward the other day. It said - when we were kids, we were eager to grow up and fall in love. Now that we are grown up we have realized that wounded knees were much better than broken hearts. But I would say, give me a broken heart any day, for even if I have to go through the agony of losing him, it will be worth it. For at least I had a chance to love him and be loved unconditionally by him. It’s not important to know if I will be with him 30 years from now, what’s important is that he makes me feel alive even for the 30 minutes that I spend with him. That is the biggest blessing I could ask for. The rest, as they say, is a bonus.

Very nice story to spread to...
Posted by Writer at 9:15 PM
One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay, for his hungry stomach, decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. On his way to school, he found he had only one thin dime left and he was very hungry.
However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water.
The woman thought he looked hungry, so brought him a large glass of milk.
He drank it slowly, and then asked, 'How much do I owe you?' 'You don't owe me anything,' she replied. 'Mother has taught us, never to accept "pay" for a kindness.'
He said...'Then I thank you from my heart.'
Year's later that young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease.
Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes.
Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once.
He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life, from that day he gave special attention to the case.
After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval.
He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room.
The woman feared opening it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all.
Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She read these words...
'Paid in full with one glass of milk.' Signed, Dr.Howard Kelly.
Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed: Thank You, God, that Your love has spread abroad through human hearts and hands.'

Name does matter...
Ulka. It’s Ulka – U. L. K. A. – that’s my name, not Alka,” screamedthe lady.“I’m sorry Ma’am. It’s just a small mistake,” the ticketing clerk, ayoung girl, said apologetically.“Small mistake? You spell my name wrongly and call it a small mistake?”“I must have heard wrongly on the phone.”“It’s carelessness. Anyway change the ticket.”The ticketing clerk took the ticket from the lady and with her penoverwrote ‘U’ in place of the ‘A’ changing ‘Alka’ to ‘Ulka’.“What nonsense is this?” flared the lady.“How does it matter, Ma’am? It’s just a minor change of spelling.Besides your surname is spelt correctly.”“Minor change? You need an attitudinal change!”“Excuse me, Ma’am!”“What do you mean ‘excuse me’? Just cancel this ticket and issue a newone with my correct name.”“You’ll have to pay cancellation charges.”“Cancellation charges? What nonsense! Why should I pay? It’s yourmistake. You think I’m a fool?” the lady shouted.Till this moment I was just watching from the sidelines, but now it wastime to intervene.“What’s the matter?” I asked the ticketing girl.“She’s creating a big fuss over a minor issue.”“Big fuss! You change my name and it’s a minor issue? Suppose the planecrashes, what happens to the insurance? You are incompetent. Andimpertinent. I’ll have you fired! Who’s the top man here?” the lady asked, trembling with fury.“Excuse me, Madam,” I said, “may I help you?”“I want to see the top man here,” she shouted, her enormous brownvelvety eyes flaming, her flawlessly smooth cheeks flushed, her slenderupturned nose luminous, almost translucent, her deliciously juicy lipsquivering – she looked devastatingly beautiful.“I am the top man here,” I said to her, and turning to the ticketingclerk I said firmly, “Issue a fresh ticket with the proper name. Don’tmake any mistakes!”“But, Sir?” “Just do what I say,” I snapped at the hapless ticketing girl, andturning to the angry lady I said politely, “Ma’am, please come to mycabin.”A glass of water, a freshen up, and a cup of coffee later, composed andappearing a bit contrite, fresh ticket with her correct name on thetable in front of her, the beautiful lady said, “I’m sorry for creating ascene, but I get very upset when I’m called Alka instead of Ulka.”“I can understand,” I said. “One’s name is important to oneself andpeople do get touchy if there’s a mistake. But then, ‘Alka’ and ‘Ulka’ -both the names suit you perfectly.”“What do you mean?” she asked, confused.“ ‘Alka’ means ‘a girl with curly hair’. Just like you! You’ve gotlovely curly hair.”She blushed, and asked, “And ‘Ulka’ ?”“ ‘Ulka’ means a meteor, a star falling on the earth from the heavens, fire, a torch or a firebrand.”“Now don’t tell me I look like a meteor!” she smiled mischievously. The ice had broken, so I too joked, “But you sure are a hotheadfirebrand. I was trembling with trepidation seeing the fire in your liquideyes; like lava!”She laughed, and her eyes danced for the first time, so I decided topress on regardless, “Ulka and Alka. They sound so similar that one caneasily confuse Ulka with Alka which is a more common name. It must behappening so many times. Tell me, why did you get so upset?”“I know. But this Alka-Ulka slipup – I’ve paid a heavy price for it,”she said, and told me her story. I am easy to talk to, and her wordscame tumbling out.“Around ten years ago, when I was in my final year at college, a boysaw me in our college canteen and fell head over heels in love with me.”“Wow!” I said.“He was so desperate, that after we had left, he asked a waiter my nameand the stupid chap made the same mistake – the same ‘Ulka-Alka’ slipup– the canteen waiter told the boy my name was Alka.”“But the boy was in your college isn’t it?” “No! No! I never noticed him. Wouldn’t even recognize him today. Mustbe one of those rich types just hanging out in our college ogling atgirls. He had fallen so madly in love with me that he tried to find out myaddress from our college office.”“Then what happened?”“He asked for ‘Alka’ and unfortunately there was an ‘Alka’ in my class,so they gave him Alka’s address. Then the guy goes to his parents, gives them the address and asks them to meet Alka’s parents and ask for herhand in marriage.”“And then?”“They saw each other. The boy realized his goof-up and told her, anddescribed me accurately to her, but then Alka is a smart cookie; shewasn’t going to let go of such a prize catch. I don’t know what she did(maybe she told him there was no one like me in her college or that I wasfrom some other college or some such yarn), but she must have sureworked on him with all her wily charms, made him fall for her and finallythey did get married. And now she’s having a ball of a time loaded indough, the wife of a wealthy businessman, while I slog it out alone, dayin and day out.”“You never met the boy, haven’t you?”“No. I don’t even know how he looks. I told you I hadn’t even seen theboy looking at me. I didn’t even know all this till yesterday.”“Yesterday? How did you find out? Someone told you?”“Alka told me.”“Alka? Here. In Hyderabad?”“I ran into her at Abids last evening. At the jewelers. I was justlooking at a string of pearls. Too expensive for me. But Alka bought alovely pearl necklace and an exquisite diamond studded watch. Must be forher rich businessman husband. It was an exclusive piece!”“A diamond studded watch?”“I told you she’s loaded.”“And then?”“She took me out to dinner in a restaurant. Remember I told you thatthe boy had told her everything, accurately described me to her. Sheteased me that her husband still remembers me, yearns for me.”“She didn’t invite you home? To meet her husband.” “I asked her. I wanted to meet him. But she made up some excuses. She’sscared. After all, a man’s first love always has an enduring place inhis heart.”“Sad!”“Yes. Just one small Ulka-Alka goof-up and look at the consequences. She – glowing in matrimony in the lap of luxury, and me in the abyss, allalone.”“All alone You didn’t marry?”“No.”“Why?”“Still haven’t found a suitable guy, I guess! Looks like I’ll remainsingle all my life waiting for the perfect husband!”“Come on, don’t say that! You’re so beautiful. Just look around andeligible bachelors will fall at your feet asking your hand in marriage.”“Please. That’s going a bit too far!”“Only one thing. You’ve got to get this imaginary lover boy out yoursystem.”“Imaginary?”“Well, let me tell you that what you’re imagining isn’t that true.”“What do you mean?”“Alka’s husband - the ‘boy’ who fell head over heels in love with you –he’s no hot-shot businessman. He’s just the owner of a modest travelagency.”“You know him?”“Of course I know him. It’s me. I’m the ‘lover boy’. I’m Alka’shusband.”She froze. Then melted. She smiled. I smiled back. I looked into herenchanting liquid eyes. She looked back at me. We both looked wistfullyinto each other’s eyes in silence for a long long time, transcendinginto a delightful blissful state of timelessness. After she left, there were just two thoughts perambulating in my mind.Firstly, I wondered what life would have been like had I married Ulka.Secondly, whereas Alka had shown me the pearl necklace; I wondered whyshe hadn’t told me about the diamond studded watch?

VALUE HAS A VALUE
A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a Rupee 500 note.In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this Rupee 500 note?"Hands started going up.He said, "I am going to give this note to one of you but first let me do this." He proceeded to crumple the note up.He then asked, "Who still wants it?"Still the hands were up in the air."Well," he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty."Now who still wants it?"Still the hands went into the air."My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it didNot decrease in value. It was still worth Rupee 500/-.Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value."VALUE HAS A VALUE ONLY IF ITS VALUE IS VALUED"You are special. Don't ever forget it! Never let yesterday's disappointments overshadow tomorrow's dreams.

Heaven N Hell
An American decided to write a book about famous churches around the world. So he bought a plane ticket and took a trip to china. On his first day he was inside a church taking photographs when he noticed a golden telephone mounted on the wall with a sign that read "$10,000 per call". The American, being intrigued, asked a priest who was strolling by what the telephone was used for. The priest replied that it was a direct line to heaven and that for $10,000 you could talk to God. The American thanked the priest and went along his way.Next stop was in japan. There, at a very large cathedral, he saw the same golden telephone with the same sign under it.He wondered if this was the same kind of telephone he saw in china and he asked a nearby nun what its purpose was.She told him that it was a direct line to heaven and that for $10,000 he could talk to God."O.K., thank you," said the American. He then traveled to pakistan, srilanka, russia, Germany and France. In every church he saw the same golden telephone with the same "$10,000 per call" sign under it.The American, upon leaving Vermont decided to travel to up to India to see if Indians had the same phone. He arrived in India, and again, in the first church he entered, there was the same golden telephone, but this time the sign under it read "One Rupee per call." The American was surprised so he asked the priest about the sign. "Father, I've traveled all over World and I've seen this same golden telephone in many churches. I'm told that it is a direct line to Heaven, but in the US the price was $10,000 per call. Why is it so cheap here?"The priest smiled and answered, "You're in India now, son - it'sa local call..!!
Save Human Life- Real Story
Dears,With deep pains (and tears in my eyes), I am sorry to inform You that yesterday morning, one of my dear friend's elder son (Mr. Aditya Suresh Joshi), age 19, studying in 1st year of engineering, died in Keshvani Hospital, Mumbai. He was admitted in Keshavani Hospital as burned patient. Reason4 days back this boy had gone to Amravati (One of the district place located in State of Maharashtra) on study tour. After their study was over, he, his classmates & his teachers, all of them were standing on "Badnera" railway station to catch the train. "Badnera" is the name of the railway station for "Amravati" city.As soon as they arrived on Badnera Railway station, many of them started taking pictures of their friends using "Mobile Phones" and/or "Digital Camera". One of them complained that, in his camera, he was not able to capture more number of friends in one frame. He was not able to catch the angle. Another boy suggested that let's climb on train boogie and take picture so that all of them can be accommodated in single frame. At that there was one goods wagon (all of them were oil tankers) train resting between 2 main railway lines. Kumar Aditya climbed up oil boogie. Above his head, 40,000 volts electrical line was passing through. As soon as he clicked the digital camera? 40,000 volt current passed through the camera flash light to his camera and then from his camera to his fingers and then from his fingers to his body. All this happened within fraction of minutes. Next moment he was thrown from the top. His body was half burned on the spot.At that time, his father (my friend) was traveling in Bangkok.. His many friends in Pune came to know about this via mobile SMS. They instantly arranged air ambulance in Amravati and his burned body was brought to Keshavani Hospital, Mumbai. I was told that this is the best hospital in Mumbai. For 1 and 1/2 day or so he was talking to his relatives. When he was admitted to the hospital, at that time only, doctor informed his relatives that don't keep great hopes. Because of lot of complex issues in half burned body? He died yesterday morning. Now how many of us are aware about this technological threats & dangers? Honestly, Kumar Aditya and his father was not aware. His family was not aware.. Our entire friend circle of more than 12,000, we were not aware. Now should we call ourselves as fully educated and fully knowledgeable people? Think of it. Please avoid mobile phones on petrol outlets. Please avoid talking on mobile phones while driving. I also know many of my friends who do not bother about this good suggestion and each one of them have opted for "Chalta Hai Yaar Attitude". Please avoid talking on mobile phones while they are in charging mode. Avoid charging mobile phones near Your bed and/or near wooden furniture. Avoid mobile phones near high voltage electrical lines like railway stations and use flash lights. My friend, his family members and we all friends learned our lesson with loss of young life. Now Would You like to empower Your friends about this accident so as to avoid future accidents? We can save human life by sending this information to everyone.

Funny School Story... Poor Boy
One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly, and then asked, "How much do I owe you?" "You don't owe me anything," she replied. "Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness." He said..... "Then I thank you from my heart." As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to the case. After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She read these words..... "Paid in full with one glass of milk" (Signed) Dr. Howard Kelly. Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed: "Thank You, God, that Your love has spread abroad through human hearts and hands." Now you have two choices. You can send this page on and spread a positive message. Or ignore it and pretend it never touched your heart.
